Mambretti Tech installs and supports Regloplas products: not only a wide range of temperature controllers (open tank – water and oil – , pressurized water or high temperature oil) but also solutions for local mold conditioning (multi-distributor technology, jet cooling and core cooling system).

The heat exchange between liquid metal and mould

During the die casting cycle, the amount of heat introduced by the molten metal is exchanged with the mould and released into the environment. A part is absorbed by the thermoregulation circuit and dissipated via the temperature control unit. Further heat dissipation takes place through radiation, heat transfer into the environment and conduction with the DCM plates.

Optimal temperature control

The die temperature is the key factor for the dissipation of the heat provided by the molten metal and affects the cavity filling and the casting solidification inside the mould. Other factors, such as alloy temperature and filling time, affect the quality of the casting, however, experience shows that a very high percentage of scrap is mainly due to unsuitable die temperatures. To avoid this, the temperature control unit:

 

  • brings the mould to the optimal operating temperature
  • Keeps the mould at the optimal operating temperature
